Why choose handmade jewelry?

In a world where almost everything is mass-produced, there is something special about an item created by hand. Not just because of the final result, but because of the journey it takes before reaching the person who will wear it.

For me, a piece of jewelry is much more than an accessory. It is an item that accompanies significant moments in life—a gift for a loved one, a personal milestone, or simply something you choose to wear every day because it feels right.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved jewelry and design. I grew up in a family of goldsmiths, a fourth generation in the profession, so this world was always a part of my home. Over the years, I studied jewelry design at Shenkar, and decided to take the family tradition to a place that also expresses my own design language.

When I create a handmade piece of jewelry, I don't just start with raw materials. I start with an idea. Sometimes it's a shape that intrigues me, sometimes a combination of a specific gemstone with gold, and sometimes a thought about how the jewelry will feel when worn.

Then comes the stage of the actual work—designing, sawing, soldering, filing, polishing, and setting. Every step requires precision, patience, and attention to the smallest details. These are exactly the details that are usually not seen at first glance, but they are what make the difference between an ordinary piece of jewelry and one designed to last for years.

"Handmade" doesn't mean that every piece will be completely different from the next. It means that every item receives the time and attention it deserves. There is no assembly line rushing to the next stage, but rather a process where every detail is carefully examined before moving forward.

I choose to work with gold, diamonds, and gemstones out of a desire to create jewelry designed to accompany the wearer over time. Pieces that don't stay in a jewelry box, but become a part of everyday life and sometimes even pass from generation to generation.

Ultimately, I believe that a good piece of jewelry is one that feels natural. One that doesn't need to be large or flashy to attract attention, but rather one you connect with time and time again.

Perhaps that is also the reason I love this profession so much. The knowledge that one day, a piece of jewelry that leaves my workshop will become a part of someone else's story, accompanying her in the most important moments of life.
